Claude Exporter Privacy Policy

Claude Exporter converts content from the Claude page you choose into local documents or clipboard content. It is an independent extension, not an Anthropic product.

Information the extension processes

When you open the export panel, the extension reads conversation text, message structure, the conversation title, and supported file or image descriptors using your existing Claude session. It may use organization and conversation identifiers transiently to request the selected content from Claude. It does not read your password or store your authentication cookies.

When images or files are selected, the extension requests available content from claude.ai. Those requests go to Claude, not to a server operated by the extension developer. Remote third party images and scripts are not fetched to reproduce a document. Fonts and processing libraries are bundled with the extension.

Local processing and storage

Conversation content is processed in browser memory to create the selected export. The extension does not maintain a separate conversation database or use browser extension storage for chat history. There is no developer backend, telemetry, advertising system, analytics, or account registration in this version.

A single local preference remembers when you dismiss the getting-started tip or first open a ready export panel. It contains no conversation content or account identifier and is not synchronized to other devices. Uninstalling the extension removes this preference.

Downloaded documents and ZIP files remain in the location you choose through your browser or operating system. Copied text remains on your clipboard according to your device settings. Files may contain personal or confidential information from your conversation. You control any later sharing, uploading, copying, synchronization, or deletion of those outputs.

Data use and sharing

Content is used only to perform the export or copy operation you request. We do not receive, sell, or transfer your conversation content for advertising, profiling, or other unrelated purposes. The extension's use of information is limited to its stated export function in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Access and controls

On first installation, a small background worker opens a help page bundled with the extension. It does not inspect your tabs or send installation events to a server. The help page loads locally without analytics; its Open Claude link opens Claude only when you click it. Updates do not reopen the help page.

The content script runs only on https://claude.ai/*. You can choose messages, switch image inclusion off, cancel an export, and uninstall the extension. The extension does not provide a general browsing-history collector and does not request access to other websites. Uninstalling it does not delete files you previously downloaded.

Service providers and contact

Claude and your browser or operating system remain separate services with their own privacy terms. If you contact support, the email provider processes the information you send; please do not include confidential conversations, passwords, or session tokens.
